The American Silver Eagle, minted by the US Mint since 1986, is the official silver bullion coin of the United States and the world's best-selling silver coin. Each coin contains exactly 1 troy ounce of .999 fine silver with a total weight of 1.04 troy ounces (due to a copper-alloy rim).

The obverse features Adolph Weinman's "Walking Liberty" design, originally used on the Walking Liberty half dollar (1916–1947). The reverse depicts a heraldic eagle. Starting with the 2021 redesign, the reverse features a new eagle design with a moon and stars.
